There is a variety of excellent hotels and casino hotels available in the vicinity. They are glad to accommodate your and your companion's needs. They understand the need for privacy and special accommodations after the surgery as well as glad to provide additional entertainment for the rest of your friends and family.
What you have to decide is where you would like to stay. Reno is where the international airport is and is only 26 miles north of our Carson City location. It has a very vibrant downtown and plenty of night life. If you enjoy gaming, consider one of the casinos. They provide superb accommodations sometimes at prices of small motels. The hotel rooms run between $35-$150 per night and depends on the season. Our recommendations are based on our own experiences and our patient's comments.
Atlantis Hotel and Casino
Atlantis Hotel and Casino is a large locally owned establishment with great food and very pleasant and friendly atmosphere with a touch of casual sophistication. Eldorado Hotel and Casino is located in downtown, has the best in town buffet and night club (from our stand point). The clientele is 30-50 y/o. Excellent service and more vibrant atmosphere. Peppermill Hotel and Casino
Peppermill Hotel and Casino is located south of downtown and close to Atlantis. It has good service, has more of a classic feel. Accomodations are comparable with other hotels. The unique feature is a fire-bar we recommend visiting. The food is OK. We would not recommend their upscale restaurants at this time. Other wise, it is a good place to stay. The Siena Hotel Spa & Casino
The Siena Hotel Spa & Casino is situated on the banks of the Truckee River in Reno in downtown. We did not stay there personally but had good reviews. The information below is from the hotel brochure. Once you arrive at Siena, you are in the river district, within walking distance of Reno's theater and galleries, and just one block from the Pioneer Center and Harrah's Automobile Museum. Hyatt Regency Hotel in Incline Village
If you are looking for more private and tranquil environment with every luxury at your fingertips overlooking Lake Tahoe, nothing can compare with Hyatt Regency Hotel in Incline Village. It is not an action packed place, but if you enjoy great food and service, rustic look and tru "Tahoe" feel, this is a place. Casino is small but very comfortable. The clientele is very upscale. There are also less costly alternatives but our experience had been that the motels at $30-$50 per night do not offer accommodations even close to major Casino Hotels.
