Reno Female to Male Gender Reassignment

The options for female to male gender reassignment of the face and chest are breast reduction, or mastectomy, nipple correction, and facial musculinization.

A mastectomy is the removal of breast tissue and skin to create a masculine chest. The two most common procedures are the bilateral mastectomy as the “keyhole” or subcutaneous mastectomy and combination of mastectomy with pectoral implant placement for more “square” chest look. Your innate breast size, shape and skin texture will be determining factures for the procedure. Scarring is an inevitable result of either procedure. In your consultation, Dr. Volshteyn will discuss surgical options based on your unique circumstances and physical condition.

Facial musculinization can include: face lift, cheek and chin implants, brow contour, scalp advancement, eyelid surgery (Blepharoplasty), nose surgery (rhinoplasty), lip lift and lip augmentation. During your consultation, Dr. Volshteyn will examine your facial structure and discuss your specific options for facial musculinization.

Most of these procedures are performed on an outpatient basis, though adequate time for recovery is necessary. Many of these procedures can be performed in combination to reduce the number of surgeries necessary for your desired result. Every surgery has risks and potential complications; Dr. Volshteyn will discuss all of the risks involved with every procedure in consultation.
